Kathryn Zastrow (Competitive Company Ballet Instructor)

Kathryn Zastrow began her dance training at the Dance Arts Studio in Syracuse, New York at the age of three. During her formative years she studied classical ballet, jazz, and modern dance. She earned her BA at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point with majors in Dance, Secondary Education, Broadfield Social Sciences and History. While in college, Kathryn got the opportunity to refine her dance technique, take master classes from companies across America, perform, choreograph, and direct. Kathryn also holds a MS in Education from UW Stout. Her background in dance and education gives her a unique perspective and strong pedagogical foundation as an instructor. 

Kathryn has been teaching at dance studios for the past sixteen years and has coached the Monroe Dance Team for the past twelve years. She has experience instructing various styles including: ballet, jazz, contemporary, modern, tap, and hip-hop to students from age two through adulthood. Her passion is teaching ballet and helping students to see how fundamental, dynamic and relevant the art form is. Her goal is to encourage her students to be the best versions of themselves as both dancers and people. Kathryn has choreographed for studios, dance teams, show choirs, and the MHS musicals. Currently, she is a social studies instructor at Monroe High School where she teaches courses in psychology, sociology and government.
